The Mona Rehabilitation Centre, first established in 1954 to address poliomyelitis (polio) outbreak, served as a 66-bed hospital. Founded by Sir John Golding, a renowned British orthopaedic surgeon, the institution has evolved to cater to people with congenital illnesses, spinal cord injuries, and severe rehabilitation needs.
