Law enforcement officials apprehended a Texas woman accused of dangerously firing gunshots towards homes in the western region of Bexar County. The shocking incident took place on August 24th, 2022, and endangered the safety of numerous residents, including a sleeping child, when a bullet entered his bedroom.
The suspect, Genesis Amanie Rodriguez, 22, has been charged with engaging in deadly conduct with a firearm, which is a third-degree felony, as well as violating a protective order, constituting a class A misdemeanour.
Alfonso Perez, a resident in the area, recounted hearing gunshots while assisting his daughter with homework and discovering the following morning that a bullet had pierced through his closet and entered his son’s bedroom. The bullet miraculously came to a halt in a Batman comic book poster just feet away from where his child was sleeping.
According to Deputy Johnny Garcia of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a video that was circulating on social media showed a female shooter firing erratically from a moving vehicle in a residential area, which was later confirmed to be the scene of the incident.

It was later discovered that Rodriguez had documented her irresponsible shooting act and shared the footage on her now-deleted Instagram account, username “yourfavgennyy.” The accompanying caption, “My b*tch bangs,” highlighted the audacity displayed during the video, where she recklessly fired over 20 rounds indiscriminately towards passing residences.
Sheriff Javier Salazar emphasized the inherent dangers associated with the reckless use of firearms and condemned Rodriguez’s behaviour. He noted that Rodriguez, who was bound by a protective order, violated the law by possessing a gun. Sheriff Salazar characterized this incident as an irresponsible and foolish act, possibly driven by intoxication.
During an investigation conducted by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, multiple shell casings were found on Perez’s property. Rodriguez’s bail has been set at $35,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on October 11th.
