The Juneteenth celebration at Leimert Park in Los Angeles, intended to be a joyous occasion, turned into a chaotic scene when stampedes erupted, and a group of unruly teens loot a McDonald’s store, causing havoc.
Initially, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as hundreds of individuals gathered to honour the historical significance of Juneteenth, a cherished tradition predating official recognition. Attendees eagerly awaited performances by renowned artists, including Too $hort, Wale, and Jasmine Sullivan, looking forward to immersing themselves in the festivities.
However, the event took a drastic turn as multiple stampedes disrupted the celebration, bringing it to an abrupt halt. Once the chaos settled and the crowd dispersed, a distressing incident unfolded at a nearby McDonald’s restaurant on Crenshaw Blvd.
A group of unruly teenagers stormed into the restaurant and did a full-blown raid, which was caught on camera. The surfaced video footage captured the appalling scene inside the fast-food establishment, showing the teens engaging in destructive behaviour as shouts and screams are heard.
The teens hurled food at McDonald’s employees, committed acts of vandalism, and even stole a cash register. The overwhelmed and outnumbered McDonald’s staff had no choice but to retreat, unable to contain the escalating situation.
