Shericka Jackson Sets New Record in Rabat Diamond League Women’s 200m

At the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat, Shericka Jackson, a world champion athlete, showcased her immense potential by dominating the women’s 200m event.

Despite starting behind Tamari Davis, an American teenager, Jackson quickly took control of the race with determination and power. Her superb performance culminated in a victory and a season’s best time of 21.98 seconds, setting a new meet record.

Antonique Strachan finished second with a personal best time of 22.15 seconds, followed by Davis with a lifetime best of 22.30 seconds. In the men’s 400m race, Rusheen McDonald finished third with an impressive time of 45.55 seconds, while Steven Gardiner from the Bahamas claimed first place with a time of 44.70 seconds, closely followed by Vernon Norwood with a time of 45.11 seconds.

Overall, the Meet witnessed exceptional athleticism, with Jackson’s outstanding run serving as the highlight of the event and providing a glimpse of her bright future in the sport.
