Shanice ‘Shanzi’ Adair and Jermaule ‘Nino’ Adair, a popular celebrity couple who rose to fame as party promoters and social media influencers, have taken legal action against Charmanique Hinds, the operator of @Newscentree on Instagram.
The couple filed a defamation suit against Ms. Hinds for allegedly posting unverified and fake news about them on the platform. According to their attorney, Britney-Lee Johnson of the law firm Makhijani & Johnson, Shanzi and Nino tried to resolve the matter through a removal of the post and a public apology from Ms. Hinds.
However, when no apology was forthcoming, they decided to take legal action against her in the Supreme Court. Ms. Hinds eventually posted an apology on the confirmed backup account for @Newscentree, @Newscentre_, after reportedly being pressured by the couple’s legal team.
However, the apology has since been removed from the account, leading the celebrity couple to follow through with their legal proceedings against the blogger.
