Clarendon Farmer Suspected of Murdering 59-Year-Old Woman

On Friday, a man was arrested for allegedly causing wounds to a 59-year-old woman during a dispute. The woman, identified as Yvonne Reid, passed away in the hospital on Sunday, resulting in a present murder investigation. The suspect and the victim resided in Lionel Town, Clarendon, where the incident happened.

Police reported that the argument began around 2:00 p.m. last Friday over painting a wall along Young Street in Lionel Town. The suspect, a 61-year-old farmer, is accused of physically attacking Reid with a knife, stabbing her multiple times in her upper body.

Residents who witnessed the incident helped transport Reid to the Lionel Town Hospital before she was transferred to the May Pen Hospital.

Reid’s injuries were too severe, and she passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to a report from the Jamaica Observer. Investigations into the case are still ongoing, but the suspect remains in police custody.
